There is NO Obligation to be in Band if your child
attends one of these meetings!
We will have teachers in the Fowler MS 6th grade wing to show
the students how to hold and play the instruments.
NO PRIOR MUSICAL EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!
We ask that they students try a minimum of 3 instruments (30 minutes)
OR they can try them ALL (which could take up to an hour).
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!!
This are our ONLY Screening of the school year and we are limited to meeting with
only meeting with 10-12 families per half-hour on
Monday, January 30th at Fowler MS
BETWEEN 4:30pm-8:30pm
Last screening day of the school year!!
The Fowler Band will be FULL and not accepting new members after Monday!
Please include in your email:
- Child's First and Last name
-Their current elementary school
- Choice of time slot on the half hour (please specify what DAY and time)
NOTE: Screenings are for ONLY Borchardt, Riddle, and Taylor elementary students .
We are not screening any students from Anderson Elementary at this time as they will not be attending Fowler MS.
The new Vandeventer MS will have a separate screening for just the Anderson and Isabelle Elementary students later this spring.n opportunity to try out

Next year your child will be in middle school! Kinda scary isn't it!
It is really amazing the changes you will see over the next 3 years, not just obvious physical changes but
changes in the way their brain works as they grow out of being children and into little "people".
In 6th grade the students will move from class to class taking math, science, social studies, PE, etc. and they take ONE elective.
The elective is either Art, Choir, Orchestra, Band, or Theatre Arts. They will take the elective class every day during school.
You can only choose one elective in 6th grade and you have to stay with that elective the entire school year.
In 7th grade you can take additional electives to go with your academic schedule. We have students who play football/volleball, are in band, and have another elective they can explore.
